MoveOn 2027 — Terms & Conditions

Short version: by registering you join our dance community for the
weekend — you become a member of MoveOn for the 2027 edition, which is what lets
us run our parties as private events among members. The parties themselves are
free for members — your pass price pays for your workshop hours and nothing else.
Your spot is reserved the moment you
tick the box. We trust you to honour the commitment by paying on time, just like we trust
you not to step on your partner’s feet. If life makes you unable to come, you can
transfer your spot to a friend at the same level and role — that is our
refund policy. And if we have to cancel a class you signed up for, you are not left
holding an empty bag: see section 5.

1. Who you are dealing with, and what registration means

MoveOn 2027 is organised by MoveOn, run by Daric Lion (the
Event Director), reachable at info@moveon.pro.
MoveOn keeps a register of its members for each edition; joining that register is what
section 1 describes.

When you tick “I have read and accept the Terms & Conditions” and click
Submit, three things happen at once:

  • Your spot is reserved for the dates of the event (17–19 September 2027,
    Lausanne, Switzerland).
  • You become a member of MoveOn for the 2027 edition. Membership is what
makes our evening parties private gatherings among members rather than public events.
It lasts for the edition and ends with it — there is nothing to cancel afterwards and
no recurring fee. We do not charge you for membership: it comes with your registration.
  • You enter a binding agreement for the amount shown when you submitted.
Non-payment does not release you from it.

We are a community of dancers, not a hotel chain. The moment your registration lands, our
planning — rooms, teacher hours, the balance of leaders and followers, catering, sound and
light — starts moving around your name. That is why we ask for a real commitment.

You must be 18 or over to register on your own. Younger dancers are welcome
with a parent or guardian who registers them, stays responsible for them, and accepts these terms
on their behalf — including section 8 on photos and video.

2. Paying

You can settle your pass by bank transfer, Twint,
card, PayPal, or cash. Whatever suits you. Your
personal page lists the ones currently open, with the exact amount for each.

Card and PayPal cost more, and the difference is yours. Those two providers
charge a processing fee on every payment, and we do not absorb it: when you pay by card or PayPal
the fee is added on top, and the total you will be charged is shown before you confirm — never
discovered afterwards. Bank transfer, Twint and cash carry no such fee, and are the better value.
Everything else in these terms about “the price” means the price of your pass, before that
provider’s fee.

Payment is due within 14 days of registering — and in every case it has
to reach us by 10 September 2027, a week before the event opens. Whichever of those two dates falls first is your deadline. Your
confirmation email names it, and so does your personal page on the site.

If you came off the waiting list, you get 5 days, not 14 — counted from the
moment you accept the offer, and still capped by the same 10 September ceiling. Section 2.1 below
explains how the waiting list works.

Paying in two goes is fine. You do not have to send it all at once. Once we have
received half of what you owe, your price is fixed for good — the rest can follow
at your own pace, up to the ceiling above. And if what is left is under 50 CHF, you
are welcome to simply bring it, in exact cash, to the welcome desk.

What matters is the day the money arrives with us, not the day it leaves your bank. If
you are transferring from outside Switzerland, start it a good week ahead: a transfer sent on the
16th does not arrive on the 17th, and we would both rather avoid that conversation.

After that, there is one way left to settle: the exact amount, in cash, in Swiss francs,
at the door
. Please bring it counted — we are checking people in, not making change
at two in the morning.

Registering twice does not book you twice. If you send the form again — a
correction, a change of mind, a second try because the first seemed not to go through — the newest
registration is the one that counts and the earlier one is set aside. You owe one pass, not two.
If you have already paid something, it stays credited to you.

The price you were shown is the price you pay — if you pay on time. The
tier displayed on the registration page when you submitted is held for you until your deadline
above. Our prices rise in tiers as the event approaches, and an unpaid registration is holding a
place at a price other people can no longer get; so if your payment arrives after your
deadline, we may re-price it at the tier current on the day the money reaches us.

May — not will. The Event Director can waive this and usually
does: a bank that took an extra week, a holiday, a mix-up, a message telling us it is coming. The
rule exists for registrations that go quiet for months, not for ordinary life. If we ever do apply
it, you hear it from us before anything is owed, never as a surprise at the door.

Reminders. If we have not seen your payment, you will get a friendly reminder,
then a less friendly one, then a final notice. Missing the 10-day date does not change your price
and does not cancel your spot — it stays held — but we will keep asking.

If it is not paid in full, we are not obliged to let you in. Until the pass is
settled in full, the Event Director may hold you at the door. There is nothing to refund in that
situation, because your registration is still owed in full and anything you have
already paid stays credited against it. To be plain about it, because it comes up: turning up
short and offering to leave in exchange for your money back is not a way out of the agreement
— you owe the pass either way, and we keep what you have paid towards it. Pay the balance in
cash at the door and you walk straight in, which is very much what we would prefer.

2.1 If your level is full — the waiting list

Some levels fill, and solo followers are the ones who feel it, because a class only works when
leaders and followers roughly match. If that is you, your registration goes on the
waiting list and we say so in your confirmation. Do not pay yet.

When a spot opens we email you an offer with an Accept and a Decline link. The offer
states its own deadline and it is short, because somebody else is behind you: if
you do not answer in time it lapses and the spot goes on. Accepting confirms your place and starts
your 5-day payment clock (section 2). Declining, or lapsing, costs you nothing — you were never
committed and you owe nothing.

Registering as a couple avoids the waiting list entirely, because a couple brings its own
balance.

3. What we promise you

This is the part we owe you. For the pass you bought, MoveOn undertakes to provide:

  • the number of workshop hours stated for your pass on the registration
    page at the time you registered — taught by qualified teachers, at the level you booked;
  • a venue, floor, sound and organisation fit for those workshops.

What we promise is the quantity and level of what you booked — not a
particular teacher, a particular room, a particular time slot, or a particular running order.

3.1 The parties are not part of what you buy

The price of your pass pays for tuition — the workshop hours above — and nothing
else.
The evening parties are not sold to you, and no part of your pass price is the price
of a party.

What gets you onto the floor in the evening is your membership: as a member of
MoveOn for the 2027 edition you are welcome at the members’ parties free of
charge
. The parties are gatherings of the members — we host them, we pay for them out of
the festival budget, and we do not charge our workshop participants to come.

The practical consequence, so nobody is surprised: your pass costs exactly the same
whether you come to all three evenings or to none of them
. Coming to fewer parties does
not reduce your price — and if an evening cannot take place, there is nothing to refund on your
pass, because nothing on your pass was ever the price of that evening. What you are owed is what
section 3 lists and what section 5 protects: your workshop hours.

Someone who is not doing workshops and wants to come to an evening pays a
membership fee instead — see section 7. Not a ticket to a party: the same
membership you get with a pass, bought on its own, with a validity that opens and closes on the
evening it covers. It is a separate transaction, with its own price.

4. Changes we may make (and why they are not refunds)

Festivals move. A teacher falls ill, a flight is cancelled, a room floods, a timetable has to
be rebalanced the night before. When that happens we replace, reschedule or reorganise, and we
tell you as soon as we know.

A change of teacher, room, schedule, running order or party venue is not a ground for
a refund
, as long as you still receive the number of workshop hours your pass promised.
That is the deal, and it is what lets a small festival survive an ordinary bad week.

5. If we cancel a level or a class — what you get

This is different, and here you are owed something. A level can be cancelled because
too few people signed up for it, or because the leader/follower balance made it unworkable. When
that happens we write to you and you choose. We do not decide for you.

What we put in front of you, in this order:

  1. Another level in the same dance. Usually the one above — often a better
weekend than the one you booked.
  2. The other dance. Your hours, your pass, the other floor.
  3. Keep the money as a credit for next year. We hold what you paid for the
cancelled part and you come back to the next edition at the same price tier
you bought — no loss, no paperwork, a place waiting for you.
  4. Be refunded. If none of the above suits you, we give you back, in full, what
you paid for the cancelled part. By bank transfer, to the account you tell us.

No administration fee and no deduction of ours. The only thing we cannot
control is a charge levied by somebody else on the way — a correspondent bank, a foreign-exchange
cost, a card or PayPal refund fee. Where one of those applies we pass on exactly what we were
charged, nothing more, and we tell you the figure first.

If you registered as a couple and only one of your two levels falls, you are not
forced to move together: one of you can take the refund or the credit while the other keeps the
level that is running.

If you keep part of your booking — one of your two dances is cancelled, the other runs — only the
cancelled part is credited or refunded. The rest of your weekend goes ahead unchanged.

If the entire event is cancelled by MoveOn, everyone who has paid is refunded
in full.

6. Refunds & transfers

No refunds for a change of mind. Once registered, the amount due is owed
whether or not you attend. Because your place is booked for specific dates, there is no
cooling-off period.

Transfer to a substitute — always allowed. If you cannot come, transfer your
registration to another dancer of the same level, same role and same pass type.
Find someone who fits, settle the money between you, and email
info@moveon.pro at least 7 days before the
event telling us who to expect. This is how you recover what you paid: we change the name on the
booking, and what passes between the two of you is between the two of you.

If you would rather change your own booking — a different level, adding or dropping the
CRAZY FULL Pass — write to us. We will do it where the class has room, and the price difference is
settled either way: you pay it, or we give it back.

7. Coming to a party without a workshop pass

If you hold a workshop pass, this section is not for you: your evenings are free, as
section 3.1 explains.

Our evening parties are private events for MoveOn members. If you are not
doing workshops you are still very welcome — sign up at
moveon.pro/party or at the door, and you become a
member for the edition just like everyone else.

  • What you pay there is a membership fee, not an entry ticket. It buys you
membership of MoveOn for a fixed window; the party itself is free to members, exactly as it
is for the workshop participants. Amounts are shown on that page and at the desk, per
evening, with a cheaper one covering all three.
  • Membership taken for a single evening opens at 20:00 and closes at 08:00 the next
    morning
. Taken for three evenings — or with any workshop pass — it covers the whole
    weekend.
  • While the three-evening rate is on sale, you are never charged the worse of two
    prices.
If you pick evenings one by one and they add up to the three-evening rate or
more, we give you the three-evening rate and all three evenings. Once that rate has closed
(next bullet), each evening is simply its own price and they add up. An evening you already
paid for is never charged twice — but it cannot be put towards the three-evening rate
afterwards, because that rate is no longer on sale.
  • The three-evening rate closes when the first evening’s door closes — 08:00 on
the Saturday morning. After that you are welcome every night, one evening at a time, at the
per-evening rate. A rate for committing to the weekend has to be taken before the weekend
starts, or nobody would ever commit to it.
  • MoveOn may invite guests to its parties free of charge — teachers, helpers,
friends of the festival. An invitation is a gift from the Event Director, not something that
    can be claimed.
  • Payment is in cash at the desk (or Twint on request). We do not take card at the door.
  • A membership fee is not refundable, but it is transferable up to the moment
the evening starts — just tell us at the desk who is coming instead.
  • We may refuse entry, or ask someone to leave, under section 10. A member asked to leave for
    behaviour is not refunded.

8. Photos, video and social media

We film and photograph the workshops and the parties — it is how people discover the festival,
and how you get to see yourself dancing in January.

By registering, you give MoveOn a free, worldwide, unlimited-in-time licence to use
photographs and recordings in which you appear
, for MoveOn’s own communication: our
website, our social media, newsletters, posters, aftermovies and future-edition promotion. That
includes cropping, editing, subtitling and re-posting. You are not paid for this, and you keep
your own rights to your own image — you are lending them to us, not signing them away.

Our photographers and videographers work under contract for MoveOn, and that
contract holds them to everything in this section — your opt-out included. The rights in what they
shoot belong to MoveOn.

Two things they are allowed to do, so that you hear it from us rather than discover it:
they may offer you your own photos, at their own price, if you want them; and they
may show their festival work as their own publicity — portfolio, their social
media — with MoveOn clearly identifiable. If you have opted out, neither applies to you.

Anything beyond that needs MoveOn’s written permission, and where a picture makes you
recognisable it needs yours too. We will never sell your image to
a third party, licence it to an advertiser, or use it in a way that mocks or embarrasses you.

If you would rather not appear: tell us — at registration, on arrival, or any
time afterwards at info@moveon.pro. We will brief the
photographer, and we will take down anything already published as soon as we reasonably can.
Saying no costs you nothing and changes nothing else about your weekend.

If you take photos or video yourself: please respect the same rule for the people in your
frame. Ask before you post.

9. Privacy

Your registration data — name, email, phone, level, payment status, and the IP address you
registered from — is used strictly for the event: your booking, the door list,
communication, payment follow-up and membership records. It is seen only by Daric and the MoveOn
organisers.

We never sell or rent your data, and we hand it to nobody who wants it for their own
purposes.
We do use a handful of ordinary suppliers to run the festival, and they only
ever act on our instructions:

  • Hostinger — the servers this site and its database run on;
  • Mailjet and Google (Gmail) — sending our email, and keeping
    the archive of what we wrote to each other;
  • Stripe and PayPal — if you choose to pay that way. They take
    your card or account details directly; we never see or store them;
  • Cloudflare — the anti-robot check on the registration form;
  • DeepL — translating our own texts, not your personal data;
  • Backblaze — encrypted off-site backups.

Some of these are outside Switzerland, mostly in the EU or the United States, under the usual
safeguards. If you would rather not use one of them, bank transfer and cash need none of them.

Staying in touch. We may write to you about future editions of
MoveOn
— and only about MoveOn. Every such message has a one-click unsubscribe, and
saying no there changes nothing about your booking. We never pass your address to another event, a
partner or a sponsor.

We keep membership and payment records for as long as Swiss bookkeeping rules require, and you
can ask us to delete everything else at any time by emailing
info@moveon.pro. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold,
and we will send it.

One address, one account. If you and your partner register with the same email
address, that address is the account: anyone who can read that mailbox can sign in and see
both registrations, what each of you has paid and still owes, and the bar wallet, as well as any feedback-survey answers given under either person’s own name (answers given anonymously are never shown). We cannot tell two
people apart behind one address, so use separate addresses if you would rather keep those things
separate. Survey answers you gave anonymously never appear there — an anonymous answer is linked to
nobody, which is also why it cannot earn the 5 CHF credit.

10. Behaviour

MoveOn is a respectful space. Listen for “yes” before dancing, accept “no” gracefully, and look
out for each other on and off the floor. Harassment of any kind is not tolerated and leads to
immediate removal from the event, and from the members’ parties, without refund.

11. Liability

Dancing carries small risks — twisted ankles, sore muscles, the urge to keep dancing past your
bedtime. You take part at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own health and accident
insurance. MoveOn is not liable for personal injury, or for loss of or damage to your belongings,
except where the law does not allow us to exclude it — we do not exclude liability for death or
personal injury caused by our own gross negligence or intent.

12. Things outside anyone’s control

If the event cannot take place because of something genuinely outside our control — an official
ban, the venue becoming unusable, a public-health order, a natural event — we will do our best to
reschedule, and otherwise refund what we have not already irrecoverably spent on the edition. We
will tell you openly which is which.

13. The boring but necessary bit

  • These terms are governed by Swiss law. If we ever cannot sort something out
between us, the courts of Lausanne have jurisdiction.
  • If one clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
  • These terms exist in English and French. If the two ever disagree, the
French version governs — our courts are in Lausanne and work in French.
  • The terms that apply to you are the ones published when you registered. We will not change
    them retroactively to your disadvantage.

14. Contact

Questions about any of this? Email info@moveon.pro — we are
a small team and we read everything.
